My duties included diagnosing and treating minor injuries and ailments in a population of approximately 190 children between the ages of 6 and 15 as well as diagnosing and arranging the transfer of suspected more complicated or severe cases to the appropriate level of care.

As a House Officer in the Department of General Surgery of the Naval Hospital of Crete, my duties included the inpatient management and appropriate disposition of patients admitted to the General Surgery ward, the clerking of outpatients presenting to the General Surgery Outpatient Clinic as well as assisting the consultant surgeons in both elective and urgent/emergent surgeries. In the same capacity, I worked ten 24-hour shifts per month at the A&E Department of the Naval Hospital of Crete, with my duties having included the clerking, ordering pertinent lab and imaging investigations, initial management and appropriate disposition of acutely unwell patients presenting to the A&E Department with various conditions (e.g. STEMI, fractured limbs, acute abdomen, lacerated wounds).

Member of a team of 13 doctors-recruits at "Poros" Naval Training Centre, responsible for diagnosing and treating minor injuries and ailments in a population of 918 recruits as well as diagnosing and arranging the transfer of more complicated or severe cases (e.g. appendicitis) to the appropriate level of care.
