Sahdev Zala is a Senior Technical Staff Member (STSM) at IBM in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. In his current role, as part of an amazing team on Open Technology and Developer Advocacy, he contributes to Kubernetes, etcd, PyTorch, and other projects as a maintainer or significant contributor. He is also a founding Project Technical Lead (PTL) and co-architect of two open source projects - OpenStack Heat-Translator and OpenStack TOSCA-Parser. He has co-authored IBM red books, developerWorks articles, technical blog posts, white papers and several other technical docs. Sahdev’s work has published in prestigious media like Journal of Grid Computing, Container Journal, International Journal of Computer Science and Information Technologies, CNCF, OpenStack Foundation, and IBM Developer. Sahdev has been a speaker at various OpenStack summits, KubeCon, FinTech, LinuxCon, ContainerCon, IBM Think 2018, Think 2019 and other open source conferences. He was a Keynote speaker at the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI) Conference and INDIGO-DataCloud Summit 2017. Sahdev believes innovation is what creates value and he try to be innovative in his day to day job. He has also run small group of developers to brainstorm ideas that can be patentable. He owns multiple USPTO granted patents and has many filed patents/publications on IBM's behalf.
