I am a museum planner and independent historian interested in how landscapes and buildings come together to create a sense of place and how the past can make our lives in the present more meaningful. As a planner, I use my experiences as an historical interpreter and historic site manager to balance organizational goals with the challenges and opportunities presented by historic sites and landscapes. As an independent historian working with historic sites, I blend my skills as a public historian and interpreter to develop reports that help managers understand past decisions and better understand—and present—the unique stories of each site.
