Master Principal Cloud Solution Architect for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure

As a cloud architect, it is vital to remain knowledgeable on most recent updates and developments in cloud services and act as a cloud management strategies to client companies. My area of focus is on the Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence. As a cloud solution architect, the most important responsibilities involve management and supervision of cloud services in terms of security, service integration, network and data processing.

One project I worked on was an ETL architectural setup for a Rochester New York regional bus company called RGRT. After reviewing the previous project team’s solution, I had made some changes in the design of the ETL processes to handle some unique business scenarios. One such scenario was the ‘temporal’ effects of the fact data. Due to numerous business reasons, the last 14 days of fact data are very volatile. A solution which involved switching partitions in and out of the fact table made possible for refreshing fact data extremely fast and effective without having to delete or update the data.Second project I worked on was in Tampa Florida for an educational accreditation institution. Using C# to call web services’ API, data was sync between various web servers to other databases such as Microsoft’s Master Data Services’ SQL Server instances. I had also used various tools to interact with web services such as Postman, which was primarily used to test the results coming back from the Rest API service calls. Git was the application used for version control. Moran is the largest marine vessel towing company in the United States. Other areas of business include shipping barges and rail transportation. My recent project with Moran was to build a vessel/voyage reporting system using SQL Server to interface with their voyage tracking systems called IMOS and Klein. This project required a good understanding of the shipping industries as well as coordinate the requirements and testing procedures between the various LOBs such as the transportation and accounting departments. The results of this project were to leverage the SSRS/Sharepoint reporting tools to deliver valuable and timely information to the key business users.

Stifel, is a prominent financial brokerage firm in St. Louis Missouri. After doing careful study of Stifel’s operational Dashboard application, my main focus was to assist Stifel in migrating their Dashboard which was based in cube technology to T-SQL technology by using the latest features of SQL Server 2014. These tools include column store indexing, extended events, BIML and further explored the feasibility of using DQS and Hekaton. The application being migrated impact all levels of Stifel from operations, brokers to the CEO offices.

Federated, a high profile financial brokerage firm in Pittsburgh required a financial dashboard to service various levels of the firm. I engineered a financial dashboard which uses SQL Server 2012 analysis service cube to reproduce the Excel dependent solution they had at the firm and I subsequently automated the entire flow of weekly and monthly reporting. Working together with Federated and other members of my team at SolidQ, we were able to demonstrate the actual functionality of their regulatory reports using Report Services and PowerView. Other technologies which we also explored and exploited during this project were tabular Analysis Services and SSIS.

Review the existing ETL processing and implemented a best practice SSIS framework for monitoring and maintenance. Created performance reports using Sql Server 2008 R2 DMVs to monitoring the health of the system and recommend options where performance gains can be improved. Improvements include smarter customized MDX utilizing custom calculated measures in SSAS, better load balancing, better use of cache, eliminated file locks between queries and cube sync.

Lead Microsoft resource for any technical issues and mentor for the associate staff. Provide training, technical and design reviews on all production concerns. Main goal was to elevate the technical acumen of the current staff to the level where their skills are self sufficient without external consultation

Main contributions to Bridgeline SaaS business were to optimize their ETL packages to reduce their run time from an average of 6 hours down to 2 hours. Rewrite their business logic and their data processing to optimize their processes so as to make each load lighter and smarter without sacrificing business logic. Migrated multiple business to various servers to minimize the use of purchasing additional hardware and maximize the computing resources by utilizing techniques such as log shipping and cube optimization. Areas of heavy hands-on experiences were: ETL optimization, stored procedure optimization and cube optimization.

The main responsibility is to work with the business in obtaining requirements for operational reports in connection with travel media traffic data. This requires documenting those requirements from the business and then transform them into reports using the Microsoft BI suite of tools. There is little in-house expertise with these tools so I was working independently with little direction with quick application deliveries.

Working with a prestigious real estate corporation in New York City to create dashboards for their operational and financial information using SQL Server 2005 Business Intelligence technology stack, Dundas Graphical Charts, Performance Point and MOSS (Sharepoint). Implementation methods focused on fast report design changes, lightning fast report rendering and accurate information.

Maintained and enhanced the Business Intelligence framework at Intuit to provide marketing information. Developed a unique reporting dashboard to provide a user interactive media in Quickbase using customized coding of the Quickbase API and incorportating the tools of Microsoft's SSIS, SSAS and MDX, data was transformed from various raw sources to usable information for the marketing team.

Play integral role as local and remote team lead on design, documentation, project management, scheduling, budget control, and technical work. Keep all participants current with project status. Develop Microstrategy reports and Schema Objects, create report subscriptions, administer Microstrategy I-Server, and create users. Customize Microstrategy Web and maintain three financial and staff reporting websites.
