She is a manifestation of our long cherished passion & purpose, to celebrate womanhood.It is overwhelming to see how women have evolved over the years shouldering multiple responsibilities & challenges, growing from strength to strength. The sex ratio of our country hit a first time landmark (1020 women for every 1000 men) and is a testimonial to the fact that the mindset towards women is changing. However some dark clouds are still looming over the silver lining. Participation of Indian women in workforce has alarmingly shrunk from 32% (2005) to 18.6% (2020). With 50% women dropping out by mid-levels, gender inequality is widening like never before. After 75 years of independence, India’s representation of women in Parliament is less than 10% and merely 17% on boards of corporate India. Not surprising, India ranks 139th out of 149 countries in the UN World Happiness Index 2021.This is a wake up call for all CEOs, entrepreneurs, business leaders and politicians of our country! We all need to come together, collaborate and co-create a culture that is diverse, inclusive, with a fair representation of genders.
