    I- Worked on a DST project "Determining in vitro & in vivo bio-compatibility of Mg alloys and recommend optimum new Mg alloys for implant applications" with Dr.Gopal Pande.Mg being a natural ionic presence has significant functional roles in biological systems essential to human metabolism. Approximately half of the total physiological Mg stored in bone tissuehave functional roles with stimulatory effects on the growth of new bone tissue.Bio compatibility and bio-activity are closely associated with the surface chemistry and topology which dominate the interaction of material with biological molecules,cells and tissues.In Vitro Bio-compatability tests: were carried out through cell based assays for evaluating cellular attachment, spreading on the biodegradable materials and there Stability/Degradation studies in biologically simulated body fluids (solution with an ion concentration close to human blood plasma).In Vivo Biocompatability assessment: A model was developed for in vivo osteogenesis implanted in rabbits to assess tissue in growth and cell differentiation for a period of 3 and 6 months.Mg Implants serve as preferable biocompatible, biodegradable, and load-bearing implants due to its appropriate rate of degradation, and excellent in vitro and in vivo biocompatibility and osteogenic characteristics over the healing period.II-Another perspective research in lab, involved in understanding human embryonic stem cells in restoring lost tissue.Human embryonic stem cells have the potential to treat a wide range of degenerative diseasedconditions, but its therapeutic potential is hindered due to contamination from serum products and live feeder cells.HESC's were studied by culturing cells in feeder-layer free ( decullarised ECM from fibroblast cells) and serum-free conditions and a combination of growth factors to maintain them in an undifferentiated state.
