• Lead a small team of students from UQ and City University Hong Kong on a work experience project consulting to the Caofeidian Business Development Zone in Hebei Province, China.
• Caofeidian is a $90 billion business development zone home to large-scale steel, construction and power projects from the likes of Petro China, Huadian Power Group and Shougang Group.
• Project group advised Caofeidian on lessons to be learned from other East Asian Special Economic Zones.
• The resulting academic paper (“Review on the Business Model of Development Zones in Foreign Countries”) was selected for City University Hong Kong’s Outstanding Academic Papers by Students (OAPS) Institutional.
