Responsible for oversight of site-wide structural steel installation for 6 construction contracts. Duties included daily interaction with field-level and management-level contractor personnel and management of a $2.5 million structural steel procurement package. Key responsibilities included ensuring contractor is accurately progressing work, identifying and prioritizing scope for procurement package, and site visits for material expediting. Through accurate scope identification and materials surveys, we were able to reduce the required fabrication scope and realize significant cost savings. Accurate tracking of all incoming materials helped reduce fabrication of materials at site.

Prepared FEL2, FEL3, and FEL4 level technical specifications and equipment datasheets, technical bid evaluations, and preliminary equipment sizing for the following equipment packages: Primary and Secondary Crushing, Apron Feeders, Flocculant Preparation System, Lime Slaking System, Oxygen Plant, Cyclone Feed Pumps, Process Pumps, Reagent Pumps, and Sewage Lifting Stations. Prepared a value-improvement study that optimized the sizing of leach tanks for the purpose of reducing capital costs. The study was implemented, and formed the basis for the design of the leach tank circuit.

Conducted evaluations of existing fire protection systems and assisted in a code-compliance review for the Bruce Power Nuclear Power Plant. Evaluations were conducted using SFPE and NUREG models to determine firewall requirements, verify egress capacity, and make recommendations for additional protection requirements. The code compliance review focused on a gap assessment of existing facility conditions against the applicable code requirements, including the National Fire Code Of Canada, the Building Code of Canada, and the CSA-N293 Standards. The outcome of the gap assessment was the provision of compliance equivalencies and/or stop-gap measures required to bring the plant into compliance with the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission.
