About Sreejith Menon

I started my career with Hotels & Resorts in 2014 where I first started working with The Oberoi/Trident, Mumbai as a server then Supervisor. Being a supervisor I was very much keen on learning wines. Then I pursued WSET Courses and passed my WSET level 3 Advance with merit. Gradually I moved to Maldives as an Assistant Sommelier/Resort Sommelier handling 200 labels in 389 room property. In 2017 I moved in Constance Ephelia Resort, Seychelles as a Sommelier. I was delighted to be part of a French Centric team, where I learned a lot about French Wines, Cellar Management, Maintaining Restaurant Wine list. In 2019, I got promoted as an Assistant Head Sommelier where my main task was to manage the team of 12 Sommeliers under the guidance of French Head Sommelier. Team Management, Crisis Management, Rostering, Cellar Management, Controlling Cellar Cost, Upselling Wine events, Suggestive Selling were some of the traits I have learnt. Later stage I worked as an Acting Head Sommelier for nearly more than an year where my major responsibility was to manage the 1200 plus labels resort wine lists for 5 different restaurants, Managing my team, overcoming monthly & yearly targets, Uplifting local people to learn about wines & most important, to anticipate and order containers of wine for the property. Currently based in Constance Halaveli, Maldives as a Wine Curator/Head Sommelier, managing 2 beautiful Wine Cellars with a team of 6 Sommeliers and an average of 1900 Label and 26000 bottles portfolio. I always say, Wine is an emotion and we Sommeliers are the most integral part of the business to make the guest experience a memorable one. Cheers!
