Korn Ferry Futurestep is one of the world’s largest Executive Search firms where I worked as an intern in the following areas:• Executive Search: I assisted one of the senior associates on an executive search contract that the firm had recently signed. The client, a major US medical transcription services firm, was looking to hire for a senior position to drive their expansion in India. Over the course of the internship, we undertook heavy research in the field of medical transcription services, which was still a nascent practice in India, the major firms involved and eventually were able to identify individuals who would potentially fit the role considering the experience required and the seniority of the position. I was also part of the initial outreach to the final shortlist of potential candidates. Korn Ferry Futurestep in the subsequent months was able to bring one of the candidates from the that list on-board and successfully closed the position.• Process Optimization: I was given the responsibility of assessing the current performance trackers that individual executive search associates were using to keep tab of the individual projects that they were working on. While the firm did use an enterprise ERP tool to maintain this information, associates maintained an offline template of their own for their personal reference which was collated centrally only a weekly basis for the entire team to asses overall progress across projects. With individual working styles and preferences, each associate chose to maintain this data in their own way.I was able to standardize this template for the entire team while ensuring that all essential information was captured without making the format too complex or tedious to maintain daily. The report drawn from the ERP tool was later customized in lines to the template that I had created for standard reporting purposes.
