I work in government strategy and social infrastructure projects as part of the Strategy and Operations team, within the Infrastructure Practice & Advisory network at KPMG Global Services. I have worked extensively with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Gurugram, Haryana, India

As Senior Representative, I was responsible for communication and outreach for potential recruiters, along with oversight of the entire placement process for the Cohort of 2020. I also undertook the content development and designing the particulars of the Placement Brochure. With the immense efforts undertaken by my team, we have had a successful placement drive at 95%, a record-breaking success rate in the history of TISS Hyderabad.

Kolkata Area, India

I interned with Parichay, an organisation that is working in collaboration with different NLUs in India on providing legal aid to the excluded citizens from the NRC in Assam.

New Delhi

I worked with DAJI-UNHCR on the issue of Rohingyan Refugees and their sustainable integration in the local communities, at New Delhi and Jaipur, India. My fieldwork comprised of profiling refugees on the indicators of Health, Education and Livelihood, and the points of interaction with State Machinery. The research component included situating these points of interaction within the context of India's lack of a comprehensive Refugee Policy.

Vishakhapatnam Area, India

As a part of my Experiential Learning within TISS, I was extensively exposed to the workings of Krishi Vigyan Kendra in Vishakhapatnam District, to develop a better understanding of how research in the agricultural sciences was disseminated to the grass-root level farmer.

Calcutta

My internship at PARICHITI was for a duration of one and half months, starting from the first week of June and ending at mid-July. My experience was extremely diverse in itself. Parichiti as an organisation works for the upliftment and empowerment of women, mostly domestic workers who remain a vulnerable section within an already weak socio-economic demography. In its efforts, Parichiti organises gender-sensitisation programmes, alongside directly working with women and adolescent girls to increase awareness and providing platforms to start discussions on pertinent issues of violence and abuse, equal wages and education. I visited villages in the outskirts of Kolkata, engaging in gender-sensitisation programmes to inculcate ideas of gender equality at the grassroot level by interacting with young working men and their families. I also took part in interactive sessions organised by the NGO conducted thrice a week- separately addressing adolescent girls, young working women and old women respectively.I also worked on the case of Bharati Ghosh, an old woman who is her vulnerable to her other relatives, especially her nephew’s family, who has become hostile in an attempt to secure the part of the property she inhabits. Her vulnerability was expounded especially when her family members damaged the roof of her room, threatening her living conditions especially in the heavy monsoons. In an attempt to secure her safety, the help of the Office of the District Legal Services Authority, at the District Judges Court Compound in Alipur was sought in the form of free legal counsel, and I served as the bridge of communication.Alongside this, I helped organise two street gatherings as a form of protest- one being the commemoration of International Domestic Workers’ Day and the other being the Not In My Name to protest against the mob-lynching of Dalits across the country.
