I worked in a small, 50 bed SNF as the Social Service Director, as well as supervised social service associates in 2 other facilities.

I worked with the mentally ill population in downtown Kansas City, MO, who were at risk for incarceration or institutionalization. Teaching them life-skills and provided resources, support and advocacy was my main goal. Many of them were homeless or lived in an assisted living environment. The majority of the clients I worked with were schizophrenic, bi-polar, borderline personality and dissociative identity disorder.
