I am a law professor teaching contract law, business associations, bankruptcy, mergers and acquisitions, and lawyering skills at Liberty University School of Law. I am the author of The Force of Logic: Using Formal Logic as a Tool in the Craft of Legal Argument, published by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy in partnership with Aspen Publishing. I write about the design of legal argument in trial and appellate advocacy.Prior to my current teaching and writing activities, I was a litigation partner with, president of, and later of counsel to, the Michigan-based law firm of Silverman, Smith & Chalmers, P.C. I have litigated a broad range of business disputes at the trial and appellate levels.
