• Duties include preparing diets, and supplies for day-to-day husbandry• “B-pointing” during therapy swims and programs• Completion of 8-part training lecture series and earning a bridge• Performed routine AM body checks including brushing of teeth,hydrations and basic wound care as advise by veterinarian

Normal daily duties for the aviary include the cleaning of overnight bird enclosures, diet preparation, interacting, area monitoring, and perching of the birds. Special duties also include the maintenance and cleaning of the flamingo exhibit, administering their diets and monitoring food intake for 36 flamingoes. Manatee daily duties include preparation/administering diets, monitoring dietary intake and behavior. Presented manatee educational program to our guests at least once a day which allowed interaction and a question/answer session. Special duties included preparing diets and assisting in administration of diets for rehabilitating sea turtles and manatees. Assisting keepers and veterinary staff with intake of rescued manatees along with wound care and other procedures as needed, and prepared vitamin supplements for the following day.

Assisting the veterinarians and vet technician with ultrasonography, blood and other sample processing, preparing medications, completing and filing paperwork.

Assisting with diet, hydration, daily stimulation, and basic dolphin husbandry. Assisted in training sessions with the preparation of fish buckets for those sessions, trained hydration behaviors, and assembly of daily husbandry coolers; including teeth brushing, eyedrops, nebulizers, and treatments for small lesions and abrasions. Assisted in nebulizer and medication administration.
