I successfully led a team of technical and M&R specialists on a transformational journey to achieve demonstrated improvements in Safety, Reliability and Mechanical Integrity of 60+ years old crude oil refinery through multi-year programs. Key programs that I introduced and implemented were:● Pressure Equipment Integrity Management (PEIM) program that included Corrosion Hazards Analysis (CHA) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) - to effectively manage process safety risks ● Equipment / Asset strategies based on methodologies like FMEA and RCM II - to effectively manage mostly financial risks.● Customized Reliability Improvement programs related to Instruments and Analysers - to effectively manage safety, environmental, regulatory and financial risks, ● Quality Assurance (QA) and Pre-Startup Safety Review (PSSR) for Turnaround, Outages and Regular Maintenance- to effectively manage execution risks, ● Structural Integrity Management Program (SIMP) - to manage civil/structural risksThe results included ● Improved mechanical integrity that manifested through significant reduction in loss of primary containment (LOPC) events, ● Improved reliability manifesting as increased mean time between failures (MTBR), ● Optimized inspections leading to reduced inspection costs.● Reduction in controllable loss of value (LOV)In the recent years I helped set up performance management of critical assets through data analytics and remote monitoring, as part of evolution towards digitally optimized asset management framework.

In this exciting phase of my career I was part of the Ready for Operations (RFO) / Project Integration team working on new greenfield and brownfield projects in Oil Sands in Northern Alberta. I introduced and successfully implemented a three-pillar model for developing and implementing Foundational Reliability needs of new assets and facilities on greenfield projects, helping achieve lower Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) through asset life-cycle. ● By implementing this model, the foundational reliability needs work on greenfield projects were accomplished at a cost that was a fraction of industry norm (industry norm was 2% - 3 % of total project cost).● Process Safety Information (PSI), Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) and Risk Based Inspection (RBI) were part of the above work.Subsequently this model was adjusted and successfully adopted for foundational reliability work on assets in older operating facilities.
