Along with other IIT-M alumni, I teach the course Happiness, Habits and Success.The course aims to make students reflect upon their journey so far and uses simple habits and techniques to reorient them from focusing on success to happiness.

Apart from learning Samskrita Bharati's correspondence courses in Samskritam, I volunteer in teaching their beginner-level courses.

Durga IAF, a cybersecurity startup, provides solutions for protecting web applications from external threats. Durga combines judiciously chosen hardware and custom-built software optimized to block intrusions while preserving rapid throughput. Durga protects applications from known threats and automatically evolves to also thwart threats that deliberately mutate to evade firewalls.I look after business development, fund-raising and contribute in product architecture, design and development.

I manage QA globally for all SunGard Energy products, including Aligne, ZaiNet and GasOps. I also manage C++ development globally for Aligne TRM and ZaiNet.Our products help companies to manage all aspects of their commodities business including forecasting, scheduling, trading, hedging, confirmations, transmission and transportation, reporting on positions/P&L/VaR, invoicing and settlement for commodities like gas, power, coal and oil.Product development involves in-depth knowledge of C++, valuation of commodities, expertise in supporting multiple platforms like Windows, Linux, Solaris and multiple development environments like Visual Studio, GDB etc.Given that our flagship product Aligne integrates our various point products like GasOps, TRM/ZaiNet, PowerOps and FuelOps, changed the focus our large testing effort to ensure that end-to-end integrated scenarios covering multiple products was the basis of most of our testing.

I manage the product strategy, development and support for CCRM, our enterprise credit risk management system and ProHEAT, our hedge accounting (FAS 133/IAS 39) solution.

Work at Eneco involved development of and enhancements to energy trading business processes which were implemented in ZaiNet.In particular, I helped design and implement extensive re-engineering of the trading processes in both the power and gas sector and their fuel/foreign exchange (FX) hedging processes.

I managed the implementation of CCRM, our credit risk management system at both PNM in Albuquerque, NM and FCP in Dallas, TX. This involved gathering functional requirements and interface details, then translating them into technical specifications, project management from a time/budget perspective and implementation.

FCP was transitioning from another ETRM system to Zainet. With the Zainet instance being tested in parallel with the existing system, I designed and implemented an agile and robust tool to compare and report the results. This tool quickly summarized problem areas of the migration and allowed one to drill-down into specific areas/trades that needed attention.

I was involved in developing models/solutions, mostly in Visual C++, to quantify the Credit VaR, stochastic models to examining new deal valuations, gas storage, liquidity and capital adequacy etc.

I helped design, develop and maintain a brand new web portal that served 65,000+ users and integrated functions like grades, course timetables, calendar, e-mail and news. This was done in Java with JSP, Tomcat, Websphere, MySQL and Oracle.

Segue develops tools for software testing. I was helping develop SilkControl, a tool to manage and test large web sites. This was written in Visual C++.

Sapien develops state-of-the-art multimedia software for Rand McNally, the mapmaker. I was the project lead for New Millennium, their brand new world atlas. I directed a team of 4-5 people developing the user interface. I was also responsible for administering and integrating deliverables of 30 other programmers into the product. Successful completion of this vital multi-million dollar product under a very tight deadline was the highlight of my career until then (altogether, 120 people were involved). In addition to its commercial success, this product went on to win a Codie Award for 1998. This product used Visual C++.
