I spent over 5 years in engineering at AAI, during which I held three very different roles working on the same system. As an intern in the UAS lab, I became proficient with shop tools and machinery, both electrical and mechanical, working on the air vehicle body, making internal cable harnesses, and installing components in the Ground Control System. As a systems engineer, I learned where the requirements specifications were derived from as well as the considerations and efforts that go into maintaining a fleet of air vehicles and systems when new technology enters the market, including retrofitting and revising technical manuals, guided by industry standards and restrictions. As an electrical engineer, I focused on the communications between the different subsystems and the electromechanical interconnections and signals in the air vehicle that control its flight.
