A professional writer is an amateur who didn’t quit- Richard BachI had the twin privileges of working in some of the best English newspapers, magazines, and wire services, and a good few of the best Chief Editors in India. Hindustan Times, The Telegraph, The Asian Age, OUTLOOK, The Week (freelancer), United News of India (UNI), and Agence France Presse (AFP) (Stringer) were among the employers. My decision to step off the beaten track at the beginning of my career, and to write on everything under the Sun eventually helped in reporting on some historic moments/events, and to network with the Who’s Who across a wide spectrum: atomic energy, science & technology, science communication, space, aerospace, defence, life sciences, cricket, tennis, literature, politics and civil services.I hold two awards: one for Science Communication, and the other, political reportage. I have co-authored two books, both sponsored by DRDO: (a) Radian In Indian Skies: The Tejas Saga (b) The Incredible Journey of the Indian AWACS.My spirit and muscles are pining for some more additions to this list.
