I was his direct or indirect manager throughout this time and have seen him perform various valuable roles, among which the best role has been as a "leader". There are managers and there are leaders, and although Srikanth has carried the title of manager, he is really a leader with management skills. In my opinion, a leader is someone who inspires and mentors his team members and then leaves them alone to do magic. Srikanth does this best. He inspires through his own example - by his work ethic, by his out-of-box thinking, by his hands-on approach, and by his courage to take up challenges. He mentors by always being available and accessible and by treating everyone with respect and as his equal. His teams - left to their own devices - then perform better than some other "micro-managed" teams. Srikanth is intelligent and a quick learner and never hesitates to dip into a new technology to figure out its utility and access points. During our time together, Srikanth was instrumental not only in giving a great head-start to new projects, but also in salvaging several projects that seemed on the brink of disaster.
