A left-right brain confused techie with a history in media technology and a penchant for tinkering with weird programming languages, music, mathematics, trekking, cycling, and who is working on transitioning from curd rice and filter coffee to real food. Worked at all levels of video production technology from handling codecs to OpenGL based rendering of editing "timelines" to automatic timeline construction. Fluent in signal processing techniques for multimedia content analysis. Implemented two generations of muvee's automatic video editing engine for early camera phones with tightly coupled hardware. I hold a Ph.D. from National University of Singapore (2013) for work done on computational modeling of gamakas of carnatic music, within the Communications and New Media department.Currently I head Imaginea Labs (https://labs.imaginea.com) where our current main directions are applied machine learning including neural networks, blockchain tech and virtual and augmented reality design.I also run Patantara - a carnatic music education site (https://patantara.com) - for publishing and sharing high quality auto-transliterating music notation, and learning using tools built around it.
