Currently I head Imaginea Labs where we focus on blockchain tech, virtual and augmented reality design and applied machine learning including neural networks. (Yes, I will resist using the term "artificial intelligence" ... at least for now.)

muvee's core product is "muvee Reveal" which turns photos and videos into finished productions called "muvees" in seconds, in a variety of styles. While at muvee, I've worked on core automatic video editing algorithms, audio-visual effects and rendering.In order to expand the range of high quality productions we can render, I designed and developed large parts of "mES" - a real time and offline OpenGL based rendering engine, visual effects framework and a video editing system for muvees. mES is the engine under the hood of muvee's flagship product "Reveal". muvee styles use complex logic to create a tight integration between the music track and the visuals. To help speed up the iterative development of these styles, I developed muSE - a Scheme-like scripting language and a toolkit (DSL) for authoring muvee "styles". The style authoring toolkit is publicly available for users of muvee Reveal to customize muvee's styles or create new ones of their own. That makes muSE one of the few lisps to ship in a consumer software product.Circa 2004, I adapted and re-architected the muvee engine for two generations of the "Movie Maker" application on Nokia's Symbian phones. I've also come up with and prototyped several product concepts and am a co-inventor on a few of muvee's patents.

NewsTakes provided content-aware repurposing of digital media on constrained devices such as cell phones and PDAs (remember that acronym? :). Areas I worked on: Audio analysis and streaming, re-presentation of engineering drawings on small screen devices. I've participated in many trade shows demonstrating NewsTakes' technologies.

KRDL was an incubator for hitech startups based in Singapore with domains spanning multiplayer educational games, sound effects and music systems, brain surgery simulation and web technologies. I've worked on the FlexEffex parametric sound effects engine and audio/music/speech analysis algorithms for content aware media repurposing. I also developed an in-house portal for brainstorming ideas .. written in AppleScript running on a Quadra, iirc :)
