More than 25 years of experience in the field of ocean observations, information and advisory services including tsunami and storm surge early warning systems. Held progressively senior techno-managerial positions at the Indian National Centre for Ocean Information Services, the Indian Space Research Organisation and as Head of the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (IOTWMS) Secretariat of the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission (IOC-UNESCO) based in Perth, Australia. Managed large scientific projects involving multiple national and international institutions, scientists and end-users, having led the design, underpinning scientific foundation, implementation and delivery of high-impact societal services spanning ocean and coastal domains.
