I am a Senior Associate General Counsel for Grady Health System, one of the largest public academic healthcare systems in the United States. I advise, counsel, and educate hospital employees and medical staff regarding the legal aspects of patient care, ethics, human resources, compliance, and regulatory matters. I conduct training and in-services. I draft and review contracts, agreements, and policies. I represent the Health System in litigation in the Georgia state and federal courts, in hearings before state and federal administrative agencies, and manage outside attorneys in the handling of litigation files. I handle all of the guardianship filings for the Health System and work closely with the Fulton County Probate Court. I devote a substantial portion of my time to advising, educating and representing Grady Health System’s hospital-based EMS division. Grady EMS provides 911 services in the City of Atlanta and numerous additional Georgia counties. It includes over 1000 employees, approximately 300 ambulances, and provides specialty and neonatal transport, mobile integrated healthcare, community psychiatric/crisis response, and emergency disaster response. I am the co-host of FlightBridgeED, LLC's "The Standard of Care" Podcast, focusing on legal issues in EMS. I am currently privileged to serve as the Chair of the In-House Counsel Association of the Georgia Hospital Association. I am an active member of both the State Bar of Georgia and the State Bar of South Carolina. I received my Masters of Business Administration (MBA) and Masters of Health Administration (MHA) at the J. Mack Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University in May 2014.
