Throughout my 7 years at St. Cecilia Academy, I worked in a number of different roles because I grasp every opportunity to grow and “do more.” I was hired as a math teacher in 2012. At that time, St. Cecilia did not offer accommodations or extra supports, but did have a number of students with learning differences who could benefit from such services. Two years later, I wrote a proposal for what is now the St. Martin Program, through which students with diagnoses receive the accommodations they need to succeed. I had the opportunity to develop its entire structure, from the overarching mission to the smallest details, and transitioned to its full-time Director, a position in which I served for five years.As the Director of Special Education at SCA, I was able to unite my two passions: data and educating the whole person. I became well known as “the one to go to” when projects inevitably required extensive data analysis. Due to my experience as an actuarial analyst, I have a mastery of Excel and quickly learn other database systems.At SCA, I continually took on tasks and projects to help the school grow and meet the ever-changing needs of its students. For example, I proposed, developed, and ran SCA Readiness (our summer preparation program for incoming freshmen), created training videos for our students on how to learn on a block schedule, redesigned our math and English freshman placement tests to align to specific standards, used data to prove a necessary switch of our admissions test, and analyzed every released ACT and SAT to create “prep handouts” for students, categorized by both content and applicable strategy. None of these projects were assigned, nor were they accomplished at the expense of getting my other day-to-day tasks done well. I simply thrive when working on meaningful projects that can bring about improvement, growth, and efficiency.

As an actuarial analyst, I served as the primary consultant for several clients across various government, health, and business sectors. I compiled and analyzed data to generate estimates for general, auto, and property liabilities as well as workers' compensation. I was able to explain results in both technical and non-technical language as I wrote summary reports and presented to clients in a range of departments.As an actuarial analyst, I successfully completed actuarial exams P, FM, 3L, and 3F.
