Navy’s Tactical Electronic Warfare Support Section provides qualified Electronic Warfare (EW/CT) sailors for deployments on ships at sea. It is also a forum for EW/CT sailors to consolidate their skills between deployments on ships at sea. Highlights• Brought on board as part of specialist communications staff providing intelligence and communication support to a regional Navy fleet.• Worked with HF, UHF, VHF, direction finding and satellite systems. • Developed strong technical expertise in radio communication and collection, completing extensive formal training and gained substantial practical experience in busy on-the-job environments.• Briefed management on equipment capability, intelligence requirements, operational readiness, intelligence product and human resources issues.• Seconded onboard HMAS Canberra for 10 months, working in a fast paced and challenging environment, away from home, within a close-knit team and under pressure.• Managed a program of refresher training for senior staff, including preparing and delivering lessons and assessing competency.• Concurrent completed formal IT studies encompassing C++ and database design.• Developed strong communication and interpersonal skills through dealing with people at all levels, from all walks of life and across numerous nationalities, equipping me with abilities that would allow me to deliver results for any employer.

Responsible for monitoring of all broadcasts to ensure technical quality prior to broadcast. Monitored transmission schedules to ensure compliance with advertised program times, coordinated commercial breaks, liaised with the studio to ensure the maintenance of running times during live programs, and ensured presentation coordinators were trained and familiar with channel requirements. Laid the framework for the changeover to a new automation suite, including developing operating procedures and training staff.
