Invited to take up a key intelligence role with the Defence Signals Directorate, an Australia government organisation entrusted with the collection and analysis of foreign signals and the development of various information security products. • Initially completed an intensive language course at the Australian Defence Force School of Languages.• During my time as a language student, developed an appreciation for foreign cultures, adult learning methods, intensive learning techniques, coaching techniques, lesson development and cultural-immersion teaching environments. • In my subsequent role as an Intelligence Analyst, I reported to the Intelligence Services Manager and was given the charter to produce a range of intelligence products for a national clientele.• Worked in a busy intelligence operations centre acting as an intelligence gateway for hundreds of major corporate end users around the world.• Responsible for consolidating information across numerous incoming channels, analysing raw data and developing reports on matters of regional interest.• Played a key role in quality assurance, reviewing all material to ensure timeliness, accuracy and relevance. • Gained significant exposure to a broad range of skills that are directly transferable to a teaching environment, including developing lessons, delivering training to small groups, assessing workplace skills and coaching team members to improve their performance.• Authored written summaries and reports, including intelligence products that were read by senior executives and used as the basis for high level decisions. Took up a supervisory role within the Defense Signals Directorate. Highlights• Reported to the Operations Manager.• Originally joined as a Communications Team Leader and later stepped into the role of Business Intelligence Supervisor.• Initially entrusted with oversight of quality assurance before taking on the charter to coordinate collection activities across various regions of interest.• Supervised a team of 12 intelligence staff, including communicating the business plan to the team, determining collection priorities, setting team goals, allocating resources and monitoring all work activities at the team level. • Liaised with internal agencies to coordinate collection requirements, evidencing my ability to cooperate across business departments and to establish effective working relationships. • Prepared and delivered briefs ranging from short and simple minutes, to detailed, complex regional analyses with far-reaching implications. • Contributed to general staff management, including rostering and shift management for a round-the-clock organisation with time-critical reporting commitments.• Operated specialist equipment and demonstrated an aptitude for quickly learning new skills and applying them on the job with limited or no supervision.• Gained a very good awareness of real time geopolitics and world events.• Took on various human resources functions in the absence of a permanent Human Resources Manager, including coaching, training, mentoring, counselling, performance management and authoring performance appraisals.• Performance appraisals highlight my strong teamwork skills and show that I am always willing to make sacrifices to get the job done.

Navy’s Tactical Electronic Warfare Support Section provides qualified Electronic Warfare (EW/CT) sailors for deployments on ships at sea. It is also a forum for EW/CT sailors to consolidate their skills between deployments on ships at sea. Highlights• Brought on board as part of specialist communications staff providing intelligence and communication support to a regional Navy fleet.• Worked with HF, UHF, VHF, direction finding and satellite systems. • Developed strong technical expertise in radio communication and collection, completing extensive formal training and gained substantial practical experience in busy on-the-job environments.• Briefed management on equipment capability, intelligence requirements, operational readiness, intelligence product and human resources issues.• Seconded onboard HMAS Canberra for 10 months, working in a fast paced and challenging environment, away from home, within a close-knit team and under pressure.• Managed a program of refresher training for senior staff, including preparing and delivering lessons and assessing competency.• Concurrent completed formal IT studies encompassing C++ and database design.• Developed strong communication and interpersonal skills through dealing with people at all levels, from all walks of life and across numerous nationalities, equipping me with abilities that would allow me to deliver results for any employer.

Responsible for monitoring of all broadcasts to ensure technical quality prior to broadcast. Monitored transmission schedules to ensure compliance with advertised program times, coordinated commercial breaks, liaised with the studio to ensure the maintenance of running times during live programs, and ensured presentation coordinators were trained and familiar with channel requirements.
