"Bharatanayam" is a major dance-drama from ancient India which I have been learning for over 10 years. I successfully completed the graduation dance debut "Arangetram" in 2015. I now teach this art-form to over 20 children and several adults.

Spring: individually taught lab sections of general chemistry, oversaw student safety and experiment performance and graded lab reports for 36 students in two sections. Fall: taught lecture supplement and held practice sessions

Identified thousands of critical assets across AW’s facilities for effective utility management. Analyzed the extent of preventative maintenance measures and quantified risk (product of condition and criticality scores) of assets. Evaluated information on capacities and costs of utility resources.

1. Conducted environmental services for linear construction projects (i.e. electric conduits by PSE&G). Performed test pit soil and groundwater sampling and analyzed results against regulatory standards, and coordinated proper management of that soil and water during construction. Prepared reports summarizing proper material management.2. Coordinated sampling and analysis for remediation of contaminated sites (i.e transformer spills, UST leak etc.). Prepared reports for regulatory agencies such as the NJ DEP (Department of Environmental Protection) and for clients, summarizing actions taken to restore contaminated site.3. Analyzed types and volumes of waste streams generated by Penn DOT's (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation) maintenance facilities and stockpiles as part of Penn DOT's Strategic Environmental Management Program which aims to obtain safe and sustainable standards.

I assisted senior environmental scientist and ecologist in environmental consulting activities for engineering projects in this temporary part-time position. Tasks included conducting environmental site assessments (Screening, Phase I- III), NEPA compliance documentation, wetland delineations, waterway permitting and industrial hygiene services. I have developed familiarity with environmental laws and regulations, and the permits and compliance needed to start and implement an engineering project.

For our senior comprehensive design project, my team designed a passive treatment system for a stream affected by acid mine drainage in western coal-country Pennsylvania. We sized 2 limestone channels merging to one anoxic limestone drain, and sedimentation pond. We developed a detailed Erosion and Sedimentation Plan and Best Management Practices. We also prepared a detailed cost estimation of each component and entire system.

Penn State's Schreyer Honors College's undergraduate scholars are expected to conduct research and write a thesis. I have done my own research project within Penn State's Reactive Transport Research Group, on a 3D printed physical model watershed to study concentration-discharge relations and end-member analysis on the chemical load from the watershed. After a year of diligent effort, I have written a thesis which will soon be on file with Penn State library. See "Publications" below.

Provided laboratory assistance to graduate students in the "Reactive Transport Research Group" laboratory. One project I have worked closely with involves understanding reactive solute transport of Marcellus Shale flowback water (from fracking) in natural aquifer systems, by running flowback water through a packed soil column. For this project, I collected effluent samples from the soil columns, filtered them, measured pH, used Ion Chromatography machine to detect anion concentration, tabulated data (including cation and DOC measurements), and assisted in the data analysis. I've also had opportunities to attend many research seminars to absorb several graduate students' knowledge.

During the summer of 2015, I was part of a 3-member research group analyzing the water quality of a stream where a controversial construction of dam was taking place. For this project, I collected field soil and water samples in select streams once a week to test for various water quality parameters. I analyzed water quality trends and presented research poster at Geological Society of America (GSA) Conference in November, 2015. The poster is titled "Effect of Speedwell Forge Dam Construction on Water Quality".
