I'm Sruthi. S , 23 year old, enthusiastic and driven Architecture student, B.Arch. graduate from SVS School Of Architecture, Anna University. My journey as an Architecture student began by understanding, studying, analyzing, exploring newer concepts through my academic projects which were,Residence, Village Survey, Happy Space for kids i.e. SchoolNIFT, Shopping Mall, Urban Design andThesis - Re-Thinking of Behavioural De- Addiction CentreEach project had different requirements in terms of space, user category , site , it's responses and in terms of rural and urban requirements. My very first project the residence, had a sense of excitement which took me through my journey in Architecture. It was during the design of Shopping Mall, I was introduced to service integration and service intensive buildings and spatial planning in the context of design. So it was mainly an inclusive design with simple concept, enabling users adapt to the spaces and services. My final year thesis - "Re-thinking of Behavioural De-Addiction Centre" - I did not want to do just a project or choose a topic that is being done every year in every other architectural thesis. My thesis is about the present day epidemic also to be called as the modern day epidemic mainly faced by this generation . This is about the behavioural addictions which we think are not addictions. But the reality is that these addictions are far worse than substance addictions. I had a tough time convincing the panel about the behavioural addictions to get my topic approved. It was then my thesis started shaping up through the researches, studies and inferences, I came up with the design solution and finally I am thankful that my hard work has paid off with me being the topper of my college.My first experience outside my academic world was during my first 6 months of internship at Design Qube Architects, Coimbatore. My second internship was at SLA, Coimbatore. The projects I was involved in was mainly residential where I had experiences designing the layout/ planning, working drawings along with 3D models and renderings. My areas of interest / concern in the architectural projects were- Architectural form and space- Aesthetic and psychological experience of form and space in terms of scale, color, light and texture.- Function and need : User requirements, space standards and circulation- The typology of the project -scale and complexity- Spatial organization, Site planning aspects, characteristics of site, importance of site planning- Behavioural aspects, built form/ open space relationships
