I am a chartered mechanical engineer with expertise in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Infection Control Engineering. I lead research on indoor air quality (IAQ), thermal comfort, ventilation, infection control, and energy in the built environment. My passion is to explore the impact of environmental factors on human health, particularly the role of ventilation in controlling exposure to pollutants and the spread of airborne pathogens.My research and teaching experience is in fluid mechanics and environmental fluid flow problems, with a focus on indoor air quality and the aerosol transmission and control of infectious diseases in healthcare facilities. I have utilized experimental and numerical techniques to analyze the spread of airborne pathogens and the development of epidemic models that incorporate the influence of the physical environment and human behavior.In addition, my research has extended to investigating the impact of poor air quality on human health and wellbeing, cross-contamination, visualization of indoor airflow, and virtual surgery.
