Notable Accomplishments- Built scalable data infrastructure to handle member growth successfully from IPO to 600 Million users today, an 8x increase in member registration- Enabled multi-master capabilities by re-architecting the entire backend data store including revenue streams. Evangelized the strategy with all of engineering, prototyped to validate viability and owned the schema design, changes and deployment of schema code across all verticals including member profile, content, payments and network- Architected and built a unified publishing platform to deliver data in near real time to Hadoop ecosystem using Kafka as the transportation layer. This paved the way to establishing SLAs for data availability and subsequently, helping the data scientists and relevance teams to iterate through multiple models before releasing code to the site- Conceived and created a data audit framework to improve the data quality across different geo-locations. This is a near real time data check tightly coupled with every site facing data store. I have been invited to showcase this solution in many events like Oracle Open World, Golden Gate meet-ups and Big Data conferences- Mentored a research team from Carnegie Mellon University to develop a recommendation engine for “Closing the Skill gap”. This was one of the ten projects selected at the Economic Graph Challenge.
