Symbiosis School of Banking Management (SSBM) was established in 2010 to address the growing demand for trained workforce in the Banking and Financial Services (BFS) sector. Given the requirement of the industry the programme encompasses courses relevant to mutually supporting segments like Banking Capital Markets and Insurance. The programme therefore has an array of courses both of Banking and Finance that complement each other thus making the curriculum robust.In this background the Board of Management of Symbiosis International University (SIU) has recognized the need for the change in the name of the Institute and the specialization of the MBA degree awarded.We are now delighted to inform all stakeholders of the institute that the Board of Management of SIU has approved of the change inthe name of the institute from Symbiosis School of Banking Management (SSBM) to Symbiosis School of Banking and Finance (SSBF). Further the degree awarded at the end of the two-year full-time MBA programme will hence be MBA (Banking and Finance) instead of MBA (Banking Management).We at SSBF are quite certain that this change will allow the institute to work towards becoming a centre of excellence in the Banking and Financial Services domain. The changed degree will also reflect adequately the area of specialization and this we believe will open out opportunities for our students in the entire BFSI domain.
