✪ Teaches a few sessions (in-class and WebEx) of PE power course, every semester to qualified and experienced engineers appearing for PE power exam organized by NCEES (National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying).✪ Prepared a section of course material for PE power course

✪ Responsible for creating a data-centric approach in Engineering/designing the power systems in the E-house/control house.✪ Responsible for performing sizing studies, load, harmonic, fault, protection and coordination, and arc flash analysis on every custom E-house project (performed on 50+ projects).✪ Responsible for developing new design and Engineering processes, and enhancing existing processes.✪ Represent our business segment as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Power Systems at internal and external avenues.✪ Participate in definition, research, development, and engineering of power system components in new projects.✪ Define and design power architecture for all large projects.✪ Define, lead, and execute special projects in power domain.✪ Participate in internal business meetings – applications, production, and field service etc.✪ Responsible for creating new calculation and simulation tools, and enhancing existing ones.✪ Review and approve project drawings, documents, and Bill of Material.✪ Provide high-level technical leadership and support to project engineers and field service technicians.✪ Responsible for (short-term and long-term) technical direction of the electrical engineering department.✪ Train project engineers in simulation tools (ex: SKM).✪ Develop technical bulletins in collaboration with engineering communications group.✪ Assist electrical engineering manager in leading, guiding, and coordinating electrical teams assigned to respective projects. ✪ Create CAD drawings that display power distribution, control circuits, BOM, and wiring schematics for special projects and Quotations as needed.✪ Coordinate with engineers from multiple OEMs and develop the best solution for some complex issues (developed 50+ quotations).✪ Resolve discrepancies during design and manufacturing while ensuring the safety, functionality, and logical component arrangement with mechanical.

✪ Developed/created the following comprehensive tools and standardized procedures for approximately ► Sizing all Power Systems components. ► Calculating adequacy of generation capacity. ► Calculating short-circuit ratings as well as busbar bracing requirements. ► Sizing the MCC transformer and protection scheme. Note: Load factors and Coincidence factors for all tools are obtained based on the following procedure: procure logged as well as physical recordings of several parameters from VFDs, rectifiers, generators, buses, and MCC transformers on multiple live drilling rigs representing different soil formations. This data is analyzed and established relations between different parameters to observe and extract patterns. ► Appropriately design and size HVACs and ducting schematic. Note: This procedure considers the heat rejection from rectifiers, VFDs and other major components, geographical location, and type of walls and the area of the control house. Load Factors of rectifiers and VFDs are calculated explicitly for HVACs from the historical load patterns over several months. This procedure is developed on Microsoft Excel and carrier E-20 software.✪ Created template projects for simulating and sizing all power system components in SKM power tools for both VFD and SCR systems.✪ Performed Lightning risk study for emergency weather preparedness and created a template/tool for performing similar risk analysis on a typical drilling rig based on NFPA 780. And recommended options for betterment. ✪ Researched and designed a template project of a medium voltage VFD control house.✪ Assisted Electrical engineering manager in leading, guiding, and coordinating the team, and ensuring timely production of all Special projects team tasks.✪ Support the electrical team with any questions or concerns.✪ Train engineering teams on power system concepts, SKM power tools, and other procedures/tools created.

Coordinate with production and issue FAT reports as required. (Nov. 2012 - Mar. 2013).✪ Manage an inventory of testing devices and calibration certificates.
