I am obsessed with organization and efficiency. I am the guy who has a place for everything and everything is in its place. I also love to build things. Trained as an engineer I was initially hired to build things but I also enjoy people and quickly found myself building organizations and my obsession drove me to focus on ways to help those organizations grow and be more efficient. Early professional success led to larger scale organizational leadership and accountability until I found myself as a senior leader in a large multinational corporation running a global multi-billion dollar technology business. Here I learned how to optimize when you have seemingly unlimited resources. This is about delegation, enabling people and management. Later, looking for a different type of challenge I led much smaller organizations intrigued by their ability to innovate and move much more quickly. Here I learned how to optimize when you have limited resources. This is about pragmatism, prioritization and speed.As I progressed through my professional career, began to see how our community is very similar to the organizations I have led. There are many diverse elements that are similar to functions and processes in a commercial organization that need to work collaboratively to create a functional society. I now apply my business management skills to help organizations grow efficiently and establish themselves in new markets. To accomplish this, I work through my management consulting company, The Tekla Group, where we apply our experience to tackle the problems, big or small, that are impeding these organizations from executing on their mission.
