I play a vital role in delivering comprehensive eye care by conducting essential pre-testing, such as visual acuity and tonometry, to gather crucial patient data. I meticulously collect and record patient medical history, supporting optometrists in conducting thorough eye examinations. Additionally, my responsibilities extend to maintaining and calibrating diagnostic equipment for accurate results, assisting in contact lens fittings, aiding patients in frame selection, and managing administrative tasks to ensure the seamless operation of the clinic. Through patient education, I empower individuals with knowledge about proper eye care practices and the significance of regular examinations.

As an assistant to providers (NP/MD/PA), I help determine the order of care and schedule encounters as needed. My tasks include creating daily schedules, obtaining vital signs, and conducting telemedicine visits.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, I have been able to experience patient care firsthand and develop my interpersonal skills in the healthcare field. I am responsible for attending to numerous patients on a day to day basis, monitoring vitals and patient behavior, and reporting back to nursing and medical staff. I assist each resident with any daily living activities, such as meal preparation, medication dosage, and mobility transfers.

While studying abroad in Berlin, I was lucky enough to join Advosense, a German-based medical technology start-up. Advosense is working to develop a practical incontinence device to be used in preventing complications that arise from incontinence in geriatric patients. There I worked with research developers and the company leaders to create educational programs for clinical use during pilot studies. I outlined tools and developed specific language directed toward clinical research education as well as geriatric patient and family care. I learned more about international business relationships as well as what it means to be part of a close-knit team.

At RVS, I act as a lead representative responsible for communication with patients regarding complaints and treatments, and relaying necessary information to the providers. I efficiently check patients in and out of their appointment, often times explaining vision benefits and billing procedures. I always aim to actively engage with each patient, giving them the highest quality of service, each visit. I often verify vision insurance, pull insurance benefits, place contact lens orders and schedule patients for vision, medial and emergency appointments.

Pacific Boys Rowing is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and ocean rowing team training in Seattle, preparing to compete in an unsupported rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean in December 2021, the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge.As the marketing strategy intern, I present the team's progress and develop marketing plans for our charity events, sponsorship campaigns, and documentary. I also engage with the media to help raise awareness for the team and our cause. Strong communication skills are required, experience in photography, video editing, and social media campaign management.

Over my freshman year summer, I took the opportunity to shadow a Nurse Practitioner at my local Virginia Mason Clinic. This experience helped me identify where my abilities and passions thrive. I was able to witness empathetic and proper patient care firsthand while developing and refining my idea of what it means to be a great healthcare worker.
