I work in the group of Prof. Marko Loncar on lithium niobate nanophotonics. My research focuses on frequency conversion processes in thin-film lithium niobate waveguides. This includes stages of simulation and device design, fabrication, and optical experiment design and characterization work.

I worked in the groups of Prof. Meenakshi Narain and Prof. Ulrich Heintz on the Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) experiment. In the Narain lab I performed physics analyses to search for phenomena beyond the Standard Model of particle physics and conducted sensitivity studies to characterize the performance of future detectors. In the Heintz lab I performed radiation hardness studies on silicon test devices for upgrades to the silicon tracker at CMS.

I worked in the Tracker Data Acquisition (Tracker DAQ) subgroup for the CMS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) under a Fermilab CERN Fellowship. CMS's silicon strip tracker sends data via a fiber-optic link which suffers radiation damage over the course of a run, and I wrote software to quantify that damage and analyze its trends over time.

I worked in the lab of Professor Ian Dell'antonio on reconstructing pixel-resolution spectra of galaxies from Hubble grism images. The resulting (x,y,lambda) datacubes will be used with the phoSim software to simulate realistic data from the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST). During the summer my work was funded with a Brown Undergraduate Teaching and Research Award (UTRA).

I worked under a joint Brown UTRA/NASA Rhode Island Space Grant (RISG) scholarship in Professor Richard Gaitskell's particle astrophysics lab at Brown. In collaboration with other undergraduates, graduate students, and Prof. Gaitskell, I designed and built a testing apparatus for a neutron generator that was used for the LUX dark matter detection collaboration. Concrete skills acquired included MATLAB for data analysis and the usage of lab equipment such as NIM modules, oscilloscopes, and photomultiplier tubes.

I worked under a joint Brown UTRA/NASA RISG scholarship in Professor Gregory Tucker's observational cosmology lab at Brown. I tested valves for the EBEX experiment and designed a component using SolidWorks.
