During this tenure, I worked on two projects. The first project involved performing 3-D CFD simulations on single/multi-stage submersible pump geometries to find the best design for delivering maximum head and high efficiency. Cavitation studies were performed on selected geometries numerically. The other project involved creating appropriate tip surface modification of rotor in a high-pressure transonic turbine stage and estimating the performance of each modification with the help of CFD tools. The role involved delivering the assigned project goals and conducting research activities under the supervision of the principal investigator. During my tenure, I performed cold flow CFD and experimental studies on a combustor sector model to improve emission features and reduce total pressure loss. I designed and installed a closed-loop water tunnel facility on the campus for testing the additively manufactured combustor sector model and procured a customized 3-D Printer.
