Conducted legal interviews in psychiatric hospital settings with individuals who received or were in need of services for mental illness and observed subsequent civil commitment and treatment over objection hearings.

Drafted motions to dismiss and summations; digested records and prepared strategy for fact findings; researched and wrote memo on complex sex abuse issues. Prepared for and conducted direct and cross-examinations for Article 10 and State Central Registry Hearings; appearing on the record. Conducted client interviews and testimony preparation and observed court appearances.

• Work collaboratively with attorneys to represent parents in Child Protective (Article 10) proceedings in family court to shorten lengths of stay for children in foster care, promote quality visiting arrangements, and ensure that families receive services that are well tailored to expediting safe and lasting family reunification.• Selected as social work team member to build CFR’s emerging juvenile justice practice representing adolescents in family court and youth part delinquency proceedings. • Provide client-centered advocacy for clients in court and at Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), foster care agency, and detention conferences. • Conduct intake and client interviews to assess clients’ needs and assist them with getting connected to services that address issues such as mental health, poverty, substance abuse and misuse etc.

• Manage a caseload of 12-15 family court cases by coordinating with ACS attorneys, regularly preparing written court reports, and testifying on behalf of the Agency.• Provide intensive casework services and fieldwork for medically fragile children, their birth and foster families with the goal of providing permanency as quickly as possible.• Document all communications and interactions with clients and coordinate goal setting and planning for families.

• Advise and oversee a hall of 40+ Barnard College first years (2012 - 2014); 60+ seniors (2014-2015)• Facilitate growth of communities specific to the experiences of first years and seniors through programming on wellness, diversity, and social action.• Responsible for on-duty and safety responsibilities, crisis management, and mediation.

• Researched and analyzed youth empowerment programs in the greater New York Area• Edited and updated curriculum and resource guide for youth workers; covered issues such as addressing oppressive language in the classroom, managing students’ triggers, and gender identity issues.

• Planned and programmed a 10 week long summer institute for 100+ girls in high school centering on themes of identity, power, privilege, anti-oppression, empowerment, and leadership. • Facilitated various workshops around these themes enabling the young women to see themselves as powerful leaders and young activist. • Instructed a course on Radical Sex Education & Reproductive Justice for Young Women advancing the 20 young women's’ ability to think critically about the intersection of their social identities and their reproductive choices.
