Currently an accounting major and fiscal services intern at George Mason University, I am seeking real-world accounting experience to convert my coursework knowledge into professional skills. My role as an accounting intern enables me to do this through various accounting tasks such as keying journal vouchers and reconciling accounts. I maintain precise data entry and reconcile account balances using the ERP system Banner and Microsoft Excel, ensuring the university's financial activity is accurately documented. Being entrusted with an important accounting task, I helped reconcile accounts payable and receivable for a critical quarterly balance sheet report. It was a proud moment, as it marked the first time applying key coursework concepts to a real-world scenario.I am excited to tackle more complex accounting projects as an accounting intern. This experience will lay the foundational skills and expertise for my near-future career as a CPA and as an auditor. My unwavering dedication to upholding honesty, integrity, and ethics in every facet of life is why I am pursuing this noble profession.
