I have always been inspired to do what I do because of the end goal: advancing science and technology to help others. My diverse background includes undergraduate research on vitamin A metabolism in the prostate epithelium, as well as my doctoral thesis on vitamin E trafficking in the liver. After earning my PhD in Nutrition, I diversified my knowledge and gained exposure to new technologies by shifting to the field of breast cancer research.Eager for experience in a pharmaceutical / biotech industry setting, I volunteered as a research intern for CURE Pharmaceutical, where I discovered my passion in intellectual property. After learning to perform prior art searches and draft patient applications, I realized that I can achieve my goal of helping others by helping the companies think creatively to develop new and improved treatments, devices and technologies by patenting their proprietary work.During my postdoctoral role at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, I have earned recognition for excellence in public speaking. In support of my guiding principle of helping others, I feel that it is critical to educate future generations about career opportunities in the sciences. I have served as a guest speaker / panelist in various events during my postdoctoral career, sharing about the importance of hands-on experience in making informed career choices. Beyond my professional experience, my training in martial arts over the years (Tae Kwon Do, Kendo, and Brazilian Jiujitsu) has shaped the person I am today by cultivating my discipline, perseverance, and integrity; combined with my adaptability, willingness to assist others, and dedication to continuous self-improvement, I am confident that I offer a unique blend of skills and abilities that can benefit any organization. I am excited about transitioning to a Patent Attorney role as I am currently working as a Patent Agent. I welcome the opportunity to connect with you.
