Responsibilities when assigned as a District Field supervisor:Mentoring subordinates by helping develop their knowledge, ability, and confidence to make decisions in conformance with existing policies;Guiding and directing subordinates, ensuring the achievement of basic and directed patrol on matters affecting their duties and responsibilities;Taking appropriate action when deficiencies in performance and/or equipment are observed; and responding to incidents requiring a supervisor.

Duties when assigned as District Station Supervisor:Prepare the daily schedule assignment line-ups, and ensure they are submitted via the Police Computer Aided Dispatch (PCAD) system to the Office of Emergency Management and Communications one hour prior to each roll call;Conduct roll calls for all watch personnel: Consisting of:Taking attendance and designating assignments, inspecting personnel, notify watch personnel of court dates, schedule training sessions, review newly released Department directives.Ensure compliance with policy and procedures regarding arrestee processing and booking, including:Reviewing each arrest situation to determine the propriety of the charge and proper indication of initial approval of probable cause; Indicating final approval of charges against the accused when the booking process has been completed.Manage district facility operations including district desk and lock-up;Prepare a Watch Incident Log summarizing all important incidents that occurred during the tour of duty;Ensure the continuity of operations between watches by advising the oncoming station supervisor of the district conditions and problems that need to be addresses.Conduct investigations and report unusual occurrences that take place in the lock up;Equitably deal with personnel matters (including grievances) brought to my attention.
