After graduating Summa Cum Laude in May of 2011 from Georgetown College, I immediately began working in the non-profit sector and have been for the past three years. Currently, I am at USTA Kentucky as the Community Development Coordinator and I have been charged with responsibilities related to promoting and developing the growth of tennis, specifically working with Community Tennis Associations across Kentucky. Previously, I served two terms in AmeriCorps performing direct social services to 950+ participants at Family Scholar House, an educational program that provides support for single-parents who are trying to obtain their college degree. My experiences have afforded me new abilities such as case management, grant writing, presentation facilitation for financial education and community events, data and records keeping on multiple systems and many other related social services skills. I have also sharpened existing abilities such as advocacy, customer service, communication, collaboration and developed in leadership roles such as intern supervision and office management. Ultimately, I have a diverse set of both applied and soft skills which broadens my career opportunities and enables me to be flexible in future employment opportunities.
