Health system leader with responsibility for Emergency Services, Radiology, Sedation, Lab, Pharmacy, Supply Chain, Trauma, Critical Care Transport, Patient Logistics Center, EVS and Food Services (~1500 employees, $1.7B gross revenue, $260M expenses)- Led the system-wide implementation of Epic Grand Central and development of the workflow processes, designed to improve patient throughput from pre-hospital to discharge and increase capacity. Served as Co-Chair of the System Hospital IT Committee.- Initiated and led the system’s national recognition strategy including a US News Best Children’s Hospital effort. Utilized business intelligence analytics and improvement methods to move from #16 in 2018 to #11 in 2020 by improving patient outcomes.- Led the COVID-19 vaccination program for employees and providers and partnered with Fulton County Board of Health to open a CHOA pediatric mass vaccination site for ~20,000 patients as well as provide a volunteer workforce at the Mercedes Benz Stadium mass vaccination site.

Hospital leader with local responsibility Nursing Operations (ICUs and Med/Surg) and multi-facility responsibility for Operative Services, Emergency Services, Neurosciences, Acute and Inpatient Rehab, Radiology, Trauma and Critical Care Transport (~2000 employees, $1.3B gross revenue, $240M expenses)- Planned and seamlessly completed a phased 60-bed expansion for PICU, med/surg and hematology/oncology. Included architectural design, distribution of specialties, design of a state-of-the art epilepsy monitoring unit, and onboarding of needed bedside and support staff.- Campus accomplishments include celebrating 4 years without a Serious Safety Event, successful regulatory inspections, meeting or exceeding retention, engagement and patient experience targets, Magnet designation, increasing the number of RN cross training programs, staffing a record inpatient census, and adding 4 NICU beds, a therapy pool, an art room, and Hope and Will’s backyard.

Managed the Neurosciences (Neurology, Neurosurgery & Neuropsychology) and Orthopedics service lines (service line gross revenue of ~$440 million)- With the Foundation, secured a $3 million grant from The Goizueta Foundation to develop a Comprehensive Epilepsy Center. Developed all deliverables and the project plan and began leading the implementation.- Led the development and implementation of a comprehensive Neurosciences strategic plan.

Managed the multi-facility operations and strategic direction of radiology, sedation, laboratory and pharmacy services (gross revenue of ~$713 million out of total $2.7 billion; 600+ employees)- Set and achieved goal of becoming the first hospital to receive the American College of Radiology’s Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence designation after two pilot sites. - Successfully planned and opened the Town Center Radiology Center and met first year targets. - Initiated and led the implementation of a new MIBG therapy program for oncology patients.

Directed the development and implementation of programmatic strategic initiatives and financial resources aimed at achieving national preeminence for the service line.Managed the multi-facility operations and strategic development of the nation’s largest pediatric radiology and sedation programs (gross revenue of ~$175 million)- Turned around departmental performance to exceed operational and financial goals while concurrently improving quality, processes, retention and physician relations. Increased service line gross revenue by ~119%. Press Ganey surveys indicated ~98% of our patients would recommend Children’s radiology services and score their visit as Very Good or Good.- Managed all Radiology information systems (PACS, RIS, speech recognition dictation). Responsible for implementing Epic Radiant, Nuance PowerScribe and multiple PACS and hardware upgrades. Continually reviewed and modified IT workflow and hardware to improve efficiencies and patient care.- Planned and completed a multi-million-dollar, radiology expansion and renovation project in two hospitals. Also successfully proposed, planned and opened Children’s first full-service outpatient imaging center in an Atlanta suburb.

Directed the development and implementation of programmatic strategic initiatives and financial resources aimed at achieving national preeminence for the service line (gross revenue of $92 million)- Responsible for ensuring all strategies in the “Phase I” Cardiac strategic plan were successfully executed. Met or exceeded all deliverables for this plan, including exceeding research targets, implementation of several information systems, and exceeding volume and net revenue targets. Additionally, spearheaded the Child magazine survey effort that resulted in Children’s first national ranking (number four cardiac program in the nation).- Directed the development of the “Phase II” Cardiac strategic plan for 2004-2008. Included a comprehensive research plan that added basic and translational research to the existing clinical research program.- Directly managed the Cardiac Information Systems and Cardiac Research. 130+ clinicians utilized the Cardiac information systems, which improved both clinical and business efficiency and provided research with a central data repository. The Cardiac Research Department coordinated 60+ trials.
