Responsible for Payroll, Accounts payable/Accounts receivable and online banking. Processing and issuing property tax notices as well as monthly/annual utilities. Cemetery requests/inquiries. Processing of Business Licences. Making deposits and reconciling cash and other payments.I work closely with the following departments within the Village of Burns Lake:Finance – Payroll, AP/AR, Property Tax, Utilities, Online Banking, Business Licences Recreation – Payroll, AP/AR, Cash ReceiptingPublic Works – Payroll, AP/ARProtective Services – Payroll, AP/AREc Dev – Payroll, AP/ARI also work with other agencies such as Bulkley Valley Credit Union, Royal Bank, all other banks that hold mortgages with Burns Lake residents, BC Assessment, Municipal Pension, Canada Revenue Agency, Worker’s Compensation Board, Pacific Blue Cross.In the absence of the Administrative Clerk, I am also responsible for reception duties such as directing phone calls, opening and closing the office, assist all citizens who come into the office and address public comments and complaints and assure they are addressed and are followed up on. Process payments in the cash receipting system including property tax payments, business license payments, dog license fees, utility payments, accounts receivable, and miscellaneous cash transactions. Balance cash receipts and prepare bank deposits and print all required reports. Enter cleared cheques to complete the monthly bank reconciliation process.

PRIMARY DUTIESRECEPTION: All reception duties, including directing phone calls, opening and closing the office, etc. Arrange for proper coverage when away from the front desk (First- Accounting Clerk, Second – Intern/Assistant, Third- Any other staff member). General typing and photocopy for council, department heads, and customers.CITIZEN SERVICES: Assist all citizens who phone or come into the office. Record and address public comments and complaints and ensure that they are followed up on.CASH RECEIPTING AND MANAGEMENT: Process payments in the cash receipting system including property tax payments, business license payments, dog license fees, utility payments, accounts receivable, and miscellaneous cash transactions. Balance cash receipts and prepare bank deposits and print all required reports. Enter cleared cheques to complete the monthly bank reconciliation process.BUSINESS LICENSES: Set-up of new accounts, enter updates, prepare invoices & billing.CIRCULATION FILE & MAIL/EMAILS: Manage incoming and outgoing mail. Read and sort all Village of Burns Lake mail and email. GENERAL FILING: Regular filing of correspondence, reports, etc. into the Village General Filing system.
