My favourite work-related task is anything akin to “finding a needle in a haystack”. Although my career has ranged to support Sales and HR operations, the primary trend in both those positions has been financial analysis. I excel in generating reports, managing P&L’s and cost centres, and above all, conducting complex financial investigations to ensure clear and accurate books. In my first position as a Human Resources Assistant with Smurfit-MBI (now WestRock), I had the chance to contribute to the Accounts Payable operation, and this is where my love of financial investigations began. It was such a rush to find proof that we were being overbilled and then take action to save the company money. I knew I had found what I wanted to do. When I took on the Financial Analyst role at DXC Technology Canada, I was thrilled to find that there was a great deal of the same work required. I became the go-to person for resolving any financial discrepancies and I loved it!
