• Serves as the "go to" legal representative for the South and Southeast Region Presidents; represents the Legal Department in the rendering of advice and delivery of other legal services to Region senior management.• Independently handles all commercial/transnational legal aspects of, and acts as the Company's primary representative in, complex business projects for the Regions. Recognizes and balances competing interests of Legal and business people. Arrives at balanced solutions in contract negotiations. Clearly and effectively explains complex legal/commercial issues and transactions to all levels of Company management, including senior management.• Serves as primary Legal advisor in the negotiation and settlement of Region business disputes to avoid litigation and protect the Company's interests.• Has strong understanding of legal implications enterprise-wide and advises and interacts with senior management concerning such matters.• Fosters an in-depth understanding of the legal issues affecting the foodservice industry, U.S. regulatory processes for selling to government customers, including U.S. anti-kickback, anti-bribery and antitrust laws.• Helps set organizational direction from a legal perspective on initiatives and issues having potential widespread effect or significant impact.• Assists in ensuring new business or product acquisitions are properly evaluated from a legal perspective.• Provides advice and counsel to Corporate and business unit level functions regarding Region matters.• Advises, counsels and actively participates in the development of procedures, practices and systems that help ensure the smooth operation of the Region within compliance of law, regulations and policies.
