In my role as the Neighbourhood Coordinator I engage and work with a defined group of households who are primarily Gentoo tenants but also work with the wider community. The purpose of the engagement is to learn about each individual household, their surrounding area and what if anything I can do to facilitate them achieving their best life. My role and engagement is designed to have a positive impact on their life. I am responsible for:- Allocating properties quickly and managing all vacant properties to ensure the area is kept in decent order- Ensuring the area is kept clean, tidy and well maintained, including gardens, landscaped and communal areas- Supporting customers who have difficulty in paying any debts owed to the group to reduce the need for more formal action- Reporting repairs through the appropriate routes to ensure properties are maintained to the groups standard- Visiting the customer regularly to identify any support needs which we may be able to facilitate and if not, make a formal referral to partner agency- Supporting people to manage their tenancy in a successful way- Engaging with the wider community and external partners.

My aim is to work with customers, or anyone of working age living in a Gentoo property, to help support them into employment or training. I was seconded to Gentoo Construction as a Tenant Liaison Officer tempaory for 6 month. We worked in partnership with a client who were bringing their properties up to decent homes standard. The purpose of the role was to support tenants and leaseholders whilst major repairs and maintenance work was undertaken in Council owned residential properties. I was responsible for providing a high quality, customer support service to the Council’s tenants and leaseholders. I also worked very closely with the Project Manager creating scope of works for the trades that were going in. I worked very closely with the Project Manager to gain greater skills.
