•Ensures effective collaboration with district leadership, as well as city, neighborhood, and constituency groups; manage staff who organize parents, teachers, and community-members motivated to help improve Dallas schools; manage the execution of state and city-level strategic electoral and legislative advocacy plans; achieve measurable outcomes and expand the work in Dallas; ensures the program’s sustainability by fundraising for the Dallas chapter budget; this includes maintaining support of existing donors and enlisting additional local donors.

•Designed advocacy curriculum to engage current educators in a dialogue about teacher effectiveness; continuously improve the advocacy curriculum; plan all logistical aspects of the educator workshops; direct the workshops for all current educators, including training volunteer workshop facilitators from our current pool of leaders

Teacher-Science 7th and 8th gradeSBDM Team-teacher rep & co-chair of Community Relations Committee• Founded Leading Edge: a leadership team for 14 students in an afterschool setting; designed to foster the Social Emotional side to learning, along with the development of dialogue. This includes data collection both pre and post to assess the effectiveness of the program. This is done in conjunction with support from Harville and Helen Hunt, Co-Founders of Imago Therapy and with the support of MindUP, a curriculum developed by Goldie Hawn, based in brain research by Dan Siegel.

•Plan, implement, and assess daily learning for 8th grade science class. Classes are gender-based and my classes were all boys. Started an Ecology Team in which every student participated throughout the spring semester. After studying the Ecology section they were excited and committed to making the school grounds and the neighborhood a cleaner, safer environment

Completed the TNTP Teaching Fellows program, one of the largest and most distinguished teacher preparation programs in the country. Based on a national framework refined over more than 20 years, this program emphasizes real-world experience and practice.Under the guidance of veteran teachers, I benefited from job-embedded training, practice in real classrooms, and personalized coaching. •Facilitator of Environmental Inquiry: Partnered with classroom teachers, Pre-K to 5th grade, to identify and remediate struggling students. Designed hands-on, inquiry-based activities for students. Organized family/community projects. Planned and organized teacher workshops and meaningful student field trips. •Supported teachers with resources to enrich instruction.

In 2003, Stacey co-founded REAL Schools Initiative (now REAL School Gardens), a non-profit in Fort Worth, TX that created learning gardens in low-income schools and trained teachers to use them to improve student engagement and academic achievement.
