I supported the Alzheimer’s Disease research team led by Dr. Robin Hsuing by meticulously transferring confidential patient information from paper to an electronic database. I used this opportunity to contribute to Alzheimer’s research by conducting my own literature review research project on caffeine’s effect on the disease. I later presented this work at UBC’s Multidisciplinary Undergraduate Research Conference.

I assisted their team in a newly developed cancer program, the Personalized Medicine Research Program, and was trained to match patients to a clinical trial using a next-generation sequencing database. I also contributed to developing new standard operating procedures along with new workflows for clinicians and other affiliate sites.
