I love learning.First, I started with law. I spent 20 years as a paralegal learning how to perform research and service clients. I became adept at managing costs and digging deeply into complex and sprawling files to support the firm's objectives. I became really good at it. But eventually, my career stalled. I felt I was no longer being challenged. My work didn't feel meaningful.My life has been spent with a commitment to volunteer work. All through school, I had candy-striped. After moving to Pittsburgh, I volunteered building life stories for a hospice. Then, I dove into helping my local community - a train station restoration project, a downtown business development project, a community development organization, and finally became president of the local historical society.Through these endeavors, I began to understand more about nonprofits and grass roots fundraising. I was developing donor lists and designing collateral. I was passionate: making a difference. I was ready to put these skills to work on a new career path and joined the team at TrueSense Marketing. Using my client service and case management skills as a base, I was able to dig in and learn nonprofit fundraising from the ground up, taking on additional responsibility as I grew in my new industry. I've been lucky enough to work with some amazing professionals to support charities within Veterans Services, Healthcare, and Food Banks. But best of all, I feel as though my hard work is helping to change lives. Which, if you ask me, is a pretty good day at the office!
