As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, my area of focus is in sourcing of external candidates for our mid-to-upper level salaried positions in the areas of Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations Management (which could mean a lot of different things!) Often times, in order to describe what I meant by Direct Placement Recruiter, I would just refer to myself as a 'Head Hunter', and that pretty much explained it. This was a really cool job! I worked with various clients throughout the state of Iowa, as well as other regions of the country, helping them source candidates for what were often difficult to fill positions. As Branch Manager of the Adecco office in Bettendorf, Iowa, I was responsible for the overall operational and financial performance of the branch. Aiming for top-notch service and performance in the temporary staffing and direct placement industry in the Quad City market, most of my time was in sales and marketing, as well as managing and supporting our valued clients. With a lot of tenacity, this branch - which was under-performing and unprofitable when I joined Adecco in 2004 - was turned around and transformed into a viable and profitable branch that survived both the recession and the very competitive Quad City staffing industry. I have to include a well-deserved shout-out to this branch's staffing recruiter, Laura Crow, who is a rock star with the associate pool and remains a tremendous asset to this office!
