I have recently joined Otak in a new role as a CRM and Marketing Data Manager. In this role I will be working with the marketing and business development team to improve system setup, process, and analysis of marketing data and marketing information. The ultimate goal is to develop and use these tools and data to form a stronger strategy and improved business decision-making marketing and BD practice.

In my role at WSP I performed data management and analysis of leads and pipeline for a several offices throughout the West Coast. In this role, I performed regular system audits, training, analysis, and reporting using the firms Oracle CRM system and MS Excel. I regularly analyzed and forecast data trends for sales and marketing KPI's and presented data dashboards to management for key marketing decision making metrics. In addition, I lead the West-Coast audit and implementation of a new MS Dynamics resume and project description database. While managing these two roles I directly assist in or manage other projects such as market research, forecast and trends analysis, and pursuit/process strategies in addition to my daily role. I managed an information coordinator for 2 years and became the US lead CRM trainer in the last year in this role.

In this role as senior marketing coordinator I oversee pursuit management, marketing, and business development strategy for the Portland office (~60 people and ~10 client managers). In my first year on job I was able to work with teams to assist in reaching both a higher than expected sales goal and a nearly 80% hit rate on competitive proposals. Peers within the Society for Marketing Professional Services Oregon Chapter honored me as Marketer of the Year for my performance in leading marketing for my firm during this time. Aside from client and pursuit management I assist with office event management, train, and mentor incoming staff, oversee workload for an additional Oregon marketing coordinator II and have been supporting the corporate office in development of a company-wide Corporate Sustainability Report (CSR) as well as contributing to new areas of involvement for the Oregon office Green Team such as leading a sustainability discussion group, becoming certified as a Platinum level Sustainable office, and adopting a green street care program. I thrive in multi-project management and assisting client managers in achieving sales goals.

While with Full Sail as a CRM consultant my primary role was both sales and client project management of Deltek Vision CRM. As a sales team member I regularly called on or performed sales demonstrations for firms thinking of purchasing or upgrading their Deltek CRM and Proposal Module systems or adding Client Feedback Tool integration with their CRM system. As a consultant, I regularly assisted several clients simultaneously with training and implementation consulting for the CRM and custom proposals. I managed various implementations from differing time zones and a variety of project timelines. The majority of the work was customized to the client’s needs. In addition, I provided assistance to the marketing team in content management and social media analytics and client feedback. The firm maintained their own Deltek CRM system and I was responsible for maintaining my own CRM and sales notes, as well as reviewing website and social media analytics and processing new client hits for sales outreach.

In this time as a self-owned consultant I advised and assisted as an extension of staff for firms implementing marketing projects such as marketing information management databases, CRM, leads tracking, contact management systems, marketing strategy programs, client feedback programs, social media and social communications plans, and proposal management. My role as both advisor and occasional implementer was focused on improving firm-wide processes and procedures that custom fit a marketing team’s needs. I know first-hand from previous roles as the marketer that having basic systems and process alleviates searching, copying, cutting and pasting, reduces “loss of information in the head” when staff change, elevates the role of the marketer and leaves more time to spend on strategy and customization to the client - the real keys to winning work in this super competitive market. As a sole proprietor I was responsible for creating and maintaining my own firm systems such as sales, finance, invoicing, website, social media, network, and CRM systems.

While at KJ, I managed the implementation of a robust firm-wide marketing information management systems (partly using BST Global software). This was the first such system for the nearly 85 year old 450 person firm. The project included development, testing, and corporate wide roll-out with onsite training for the firms nearly 3 dozen marketing and marketing assistants. The system was highly successful and improved consistency, as well as reduced time in proposal creation. In addition, I managed multiple special projects for operations, HR, and marketing communication projects for various managers. Special projects managed included; creating of a climate action report and various other sustainability projects; internal newsletters; employee and client gift online store; recruiting promotional products; ACEC awards boards; corporate management training programs; website update, and more. During the economic downturn I add and additional hat as a senior marketing coordinator assisting with various proposals from 2011-2012.

Responsible for proposal development and leads strategy for the land development and energy services business lines in Portland. In addition to managing proposal and leads strategy I also maintained marketing data in Deltek Vision and was part of a pilot group internally working to test Vision CRM which was eventually used as the firms’ new leads tracking system.

Managed a marketing coordinator and was responsible for local sector marketing strategy as well as specific leads and proposal management for several client managers in the Oregon offices.
