The Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) is the official export credit agency of the United States, with a mission of supporting American jobs by facilitating the export of U.S. goods and services. One way that we accomplish our mission is through a program called Export Credit Insurance (ECI). ECI mitigates your nonpayment risk while empowering you to offer attractive open account credit terms (Net 60, etc.). If you are offering open account credit terms to win new customers and/or increase sales to existing international buyers, EXIM will pay you if your buyer does not. The coverage is 90-95% of your invoice, including freight. Another benefit to insuring your foreign account receivables with EXIM is that lenders will often accept them as collateral, expanding your borrowing base and improving cash flow. Another way we can also help improve your cash flow is through our Working Capital Guarantee program. It may be difficult for Lenders to use export-related assets as a borrowing basis because the foreign market risk would be beyond the lender’s comfort level. An EXIM Working Capital Loan Guarantee allows U.S. businesses to borrow against assets that lenders would otherwise be unwilling to include as collateral. Assests such as foreign accounts receivable and export-related inventory including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods can become part of the borrowing base to help fulfill export orders.If interested or have any questions whatsoever, please don't hesitate to message me!
